Meet Bob, Lance & Mitchell
Our story
A father, a son,
and a fresh start in West Texas.
David Pool and Spa opened in January 2013. The family story behind it began more than two decades earlier.
Bob built his experience from the ground up.
Bob David entered the swimming pool industry in El Paso in 1992, learning sales, construction, customer service, and care after installation. His work eventually led him to become president of Advanced Pools, a company known for its concrete pool designs.
When Advanced Pools added Viking fiberglass pools, now part of Latham, Bob saw an opportunity to offer another way to build a backyard pool. During his ten years as president, he installed more than 500 fiberglass pools. In 2011, Latham invited him to become its local dealer in Odessa, where its Texas manufacturing facility was based. Bob made the move in 2012.
A call from Dad changed Lance’s plans.
Lance David had built a career of his own in retail, telecommunications, and banking and finance in New York City. The pool business wasn’t originally part of his plan. But in late 2012, Bob invited him to Odessa to see what they could build together.
The invitation stuck. In January 2013, Lance and his soon-to-be wife packed up and headed west. Bob brought decades of pool-building experience; Lance brought his background in customer relationships, sales, and a fresh approach to helping people picture their backyard plans. Together, father and son opened David Pool and Spa.
Growing with the community we call home.
The business grew from that family beginning, earning Builder of Excellence and Gold Sales recognition along the way. Lance has also served on two Latham advisory councils. Today, the team supports customers through pool design and installation, ongoing maintenance and repairs, retail water care, and professional water testing.

Lance traded New York City for West Texas in January 2013 to build David Pool and Spa with his father. His background in retail and finance shaped his interest in lasting customer relationships.
